KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Special Committee on Integration, Rehabilitation and Management of the PLA fighters ended in Singha Durbar on Thursday.

According to Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Rakam Chemjong, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal assured the UCPN-Maoist representatives of the committee's legal and constitutional base ruling out Defence Minister Bhandari's controversial statement that the PLA fighters would not be merged in the Nepal Army in bulk.

However, the meeting failed to finalise the PLA fighter chain of command, terms of reference and code of conduct due to the Defence Minister's controversial statement.
