Special event for 200th week of clean-up drive
Kathmandu, February 21
A special event is being held on March 4 to mark the 200th week of the Bagmati clean-up mega campaign.
All government bodies and their employees would be mobilised in the cleanliness event as decided by a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Dr Som Lal Subedi, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
On the day, cleaning of the sacred river in Kathmandu Valley will take place in 14 different locations by mobilising civil servants, security personnel, students, employees of social and professional organisations, and members of civil society and political parties.
Speaking at a programme, Secretary Mahendra Man Gurung at the MoIC said all staffers under the ministry would be present at ‘Balkhu-Teku confluence’ at 7:00 am on the day. The government has formed a committee to make preparation for the event.
