Staffers of health posts in LMC not paid for four months

Staffers of seven health posts of Lalitpur Metropolitan City have not received their monthly salaries for the last four months.
The health post staffers have submitted an application to LMC Mayor Chiri Bahadur Maharjan, demanding timely payment of their salaries. Those who have not received their salaries include staffers of Harisiddhi Health Post, Dhapakhel Health Post, Sunakothi Health post, Sainbu Health Post, Khokana Health Post, Bungamati Health Post and Family Planning Community Clinic.
A staffer at Harisidhhi Health Post said they were facing financial difficulties as they had not been paid for the last four months.
According to Jhalak Sharma Paudel, chief at District Public Health Office, Lalitpur, LMC office is responsible for paying the staffers of the seven health posts. Staffers of the health posts were getting their salaries through Lalitpur Metropolitan City and District Public Health Office, Lalitpur.
Raju Maharjan, information officer at LMC, said the metropolitan office had demanded budget from the finance ministry. “We have been demanding budget, but the finance ministry has not responded,” he added.
