Standing Committee meeting of NCP (Dahal-Nepal faction) underway

KATHMANDU: Standing Committee meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) members close to Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal is underway.

The meeting is being chaired by the faction's co-chair Nepal in absence of the other co-chair Dahal who has left for India this morning for his wife Sita Dahal's treatment.

The main agenda of the meeting, among other subjects, would be to discuss the steps forward regarding the splinter group's protest against dissolution of House of Representatives by the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister and chair of NCP's other faction KP Sharma Oli, on December 20, dissolved the federal parliament's Lower House following which the party split on December 22.
