Strengthened democracy necessary to make country prosperous: Singh
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Prakashman Singh today said the country would become prosperous once democracy is strengthened.
Speaking at a tea reception organised today at his private residence at Chaksibari on the eve of Non-Resident Nepali Association global conference, the NC leader stressed the need for the NRNs to play an important role in consolidating democracy.
"The NRNA conference is taking place at a time when the electoral process has already begun in the country. It will hold meaning in the national politics as well," he said.
The NRNA 8th global conference is taking place in the Capital from October 14-16.
He also praised the NRNA for helping Nepalis living in various foreign countries, and contributing to the country's development through various means.
The event was attended by various NC central members, lawmakers, representatives of various NC's sister organisations and the NRNA Association representatives from various foreign countries.
