Kathmandu, March 5:
The Free Students’ Campaign today proposed the formulation of a students’ code of conduct for creating a peaceful learning environment in educational institutions. It said educational institutions should be declared peace zones and all the students should be given a conducive learning environment. Students from various schools and colleges participated in an interaction organised by the Free Students’ Campaign (FSC) here today. Shankher Katwal, president of the FSC, said every student has the right to study without any fear from any parties. The schools should not be targeted for any purposes. “Both the warring parties should remove violent activities from the schools,” said Katwal. “We will now present it (code of conduct) before different student wings of various political parties so as to abide by the rule,” he said. The proposed code of conduct states that forceful participation of students in political and non-political parties is not fair. “Due to constant educational strikes and bandhs, educational sector has been badly affected,” Katwal said.
