Sub-panel fails to hold talks with Dr Govinda KC

Kathmandu, December 25

A sub-committee formed under the Education and Health Committee of the Parliament failed to hold talks with Dr Govinda KC on the National Health Education Bill today.

According to a member of the sub-panel, they had invited Dr KC for a meeting, but he didn’t respond. “We didn’t get any response till evening,” said the sub-panel member.  As a result, the sub-panel couldn’t come with the final draft of the bill.

Lawmaker Gagan Kumar Thapa said there were certain issues that needed to be discussed with Dr KC. Another member of the sub-committee, Khagaraj Adhakari, said the panel was waiting for Dr KC’s response. KC had previously said that he would not hold any meeting to further explain his agreements with the government.

The panel has already decided to present the bill in the meeting of House of Representatives tomorrow.
