Supplies minister vows to continue market monitoring

KATHMANDU: Minister for Supplies, Ganesh Man Pun, said the recently launched market monitoring campaign was not a show-off bragging and he would continue it to ensure rights of citizens.

Speaking at an interaction in Bhaktapur on Friday, Pun said the Ministry had launched the monitoring to ensure that citizens get quality products at reasonable prices while the black marketing be controlled.

Accepting that the incumbent government, which he is also a part of, could not deliver as well as expected in various sectors, he, however, maintained that he worked the utmost possible to ensure smooth supply and availability of petroleum products in the crisis.

He was of the view that there was no any problem regarding supply of petroleum products across the nation currently.

The Minister also assured that the government was preparing to finalise a deal to import fuel from China.

Meanwhile, the CPN Maoist Centre leader, in a separate context, said a national consensus government was needed to ensure successful implementation of the Constitution.

The Maoist party, just on Thursday, had decided to take initiatives for the consensus government.
