KATHMANDU, JUNE 10
The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court has postponed further hearing on a writ petition challenging the government's decision to dissolve employees' trade unions until June 12.
The hearing before a constitutional bench led by Chief Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma could not be completed on Wednesday.
The petition was filed by Bhawani Dahal, chairperson of the Nepal Civil Servants Association, seeking annulment of the government's decision.
The case was earlier heard by another constitutional bench, which issued a split verdict. While three justices favoured an interim order to halt implementation of the decision, two others argued that such an order was unnecessary as no irreparable harm would result.
