Bomb found in front of police office in Tinkune, defused

KATHMANDU: A squad from Nepal Army defused a bomb found in a suspicious package in front of the office of the Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) near Bagmati Bridge in Tinkune today.

The spot was evacuated and one-way vehicular movement was allowed along the Maitighar Mandala-Tinkune road section after a black package that looked like a school bag with wires and a switch coming out of it, and a sheet of paper written "Khatara" (Danger) on it, was found this afternoon.

The bomb has been found on the day when Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led Communist Party of Nepal has imposed nationwide general strike after police disrupted an event of the party and arrested its leaders and cadres in Biratnagar of Morang district on Sunday.

Meanwhile, nobody has claimed the responsibility for the terrorising act.

Suspicious package with wires found at Tinkune

KATHMANDU: A suspicious package has been found on the road in front of the office of the Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) near Bagmati Bridge in Tinkune today.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ravi Poudel at the Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC), New Baneshwor, a black package that looked like a school bag with wires and a switch coming out of it, and a sheet of paper written "Khatara" (Danger) on it, was found near the Office of the MPC.

Police have responded to reports of the package suspected to be a bomb.

Meanwhile, the spot have been has been cleared and evacuated allowing one-way traffic along the Maitighar Mandala-Tinkune road section, police informed.

"It has been arranged to deploy the Nepal Army personnel to the site to inspect the package", police informed.
