Task force to check fuel adulteration

Kathmandu, October 27:

The government has formed a six-member task force to check adulteration in petrol and diesel and control the quality of the fuel.

The task force headed by the consumer section chief of the Department of Commerce includes representatives of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Automobiles Dealers Association, Petroleum Dealers’ Association, National Consumers’ Forum and Bureau of Standards and Metrology as members.

With immediate effect, the Committee has been mandated to collect samples of petrol and diesel from Raxaul, Amlekhgunj and Thankot depots, petrol pumps and also tankers and examine them at the laboratories of the state-run corporation, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, Bureau of Standards and Metrology and at international laboratories if needed.
