Teachers’ demands discussed
Kathmandu:
A nine-member talks team under the chairmanship of Sushil Pandey, the director of the Central Regional Education Directorate, on Tuesday met to discuss issues brought up by the Institutional School Teachers’ Union-Nepal (ISTU-N). The ISTU has been protesting since January, demanding fulfilment of their three-point charter of demands, which include giving appointment letters to teachers, providing salary and facilities to the teachers employed in government school on par with that of the community school teachers and including one ISTU member in each school’s management committee.
