KATHMANDU: A teenage boy died after being hit by a van in Tangal of Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Dipendra Khadka (17), a permanent resident of Tamghas of Gulmi district, currently residing in Galfutar of Capital, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj today.

Khadka was riding a motorbike (Ba 70 Pa 247) while a Maruti van (Ba 6 Cha 828) hit him in Tangal, KMC-5 today.

Meanwhile, the van also simultaneously hit another two-wheeler (Ba 69 Pa 828).

The second bike's rider 20-year-old Sabin Bista, a permanent resident of Khalanga-8 in Rukum distirct, also sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at the same health facility.

Police arrested the van driver Bidur Lamichhane (26) of Jeevanpur in Dhading.

All the vehicles involved were impounded for further investigation.
