TGIF fashion week to kick off
KATHMANDU: Haute couture is all set to hit the valley with the TGIF Nepal Fashion Week at Yak &Yeti Hotel from September 7-11. In a press meet organised in the venue on Sunday afternoon Ghirendra Munankarmi, marketing manager of APCA House, said that The Himalayan Times, Nepal’s No. 1 English daily, has signed a five year contract with IEC School of Arts & Fashion to host the annual extravaganza.
Shailaja Adhikary, Managing Director of IEC, informed that there were altogether 150 designers participating in the fashion week. She said that of the 20 models, 6 leading Indian models have been flown in especially for the event. In addition to the 6 Indian models, Miss India Universe 2008, Simran Kaur, and Fresh Face Miss India 2009, Deeksha Seth are expected to be the top attractions during the five day event. Acoording to Adhikary there will be 10-11 sequences on each day with a total of 42 themes. The event will showcase collections for spring-summer 2010.
