Thapa given formal farewell from ministries of energy, urban development

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa was given formal farewell from the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Urban Development on Wednesday.

Separate programmes were held in the two ministries today to bid adieu to Minister Thapa, who had been given the portfolios of both ministries.

At the programme of Energy Ministry, he claimed that an important decision was made for the development of nation during his term at the Ministry.

Thapa said that he was well aware of his duties and limitations while assuming the office, adding that the decision to construct Budhigandaki Hydropower Project of national pride with the investment of domestic capital was really a significant move.

Energy Secretary Anup Sharma and Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development Jitendra Nath Sharma expressed happiness over being allowed to work freely (without any political pressure and influence) during the tenure of Thapa at both ministries.
