Kathmandu, May 17:

A group of unidentified persons last night stole some office accessories and important papers from Nepali Congress central committee member Narahari Acharya’s residence at Chundevi, Kathmandu.

Family sources said one photocopy machine, one computer set, a scanning machine, water filter and other stationery, as well as some important party and personal documents were stolen. There were two housemaids in the house when the robbery occurred.

“The housemaids are learnt to have locked the room from outside,” DSP Hari Bahadur Pal at Kathmandu District Police Office, said. “It is very suspicious as the thieves didn’t take any valuables,” he said.

Acharya has been kept at the APF training centre at Dewakot since Febraury 1.
