Three serial robbers busted from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Police on Monday said three alleged serial robbers have been arrested from assorted locations of Kathmandu.

Police said Ruman Tamang (28) of Panauti Municipality-8 in Kavre district and Seniyan Tamang (25) of Dhokatole in KMC-19 were arrested from Koteshwor of Kathmandu on Sunday. Police also seized a scooter (Ba 81 Pa 3475) and Rs 21,610 cash from them.

It has been learned that the suspects would rob public vehicle passengers of mobile phones and cash in various locations of Kathmandu Valley.

Meanwhile, one Tanka Tamang (26) of Pepsicola, KMC-35 was also arrested on the charge of robbing a pedestrian of a mobile phone at Naya Banwshwor Chok of KMC-10 on Sunday.

Tamang was on the run after snatching away the mobile and police with the help of locals arrested him after a while.

Police said they are looking into both the cases.
