Three thefts reported in Valley
KATHMANDU: Police said three cases of theft were reported from different parts of Kathmandu Valley on Friday and Saturday.
Property worth Rs 1.08 million was stolen in the incidents, according to police.
Gold jewelleries and cash worth Rs 603,000 collectively has been stolen from the house of Shankar Prasad Pradhan in Jhochhen, KMC-23, police said.
The unidentified larceners broke the front door and stole the cash and ornaments from the house which was completely vacant after the destructive April 25 earthquake had damaged it, police said.
Similarly, in the absence of all family members, protperty worth Rs 340,000 including gold and silver jewelleries and cash has been stolen from Managala Acharya's house in Ranibu, LSMC-13.
In a similar case, property worth Rs 139,000 including cash with gold and silver jewelleries was stolen from the unattended rented room of Mahesh Bhattarai (33) in Surya Binayak-4 of Bhaktapur today.
