Three thefts reported from Valley

KATHMANDU: A house belonging to Rajmati Maharjan in Milantol of  Chandragiri Municipality-20 was reportedly burgled of Rs 180,000 in cash and two sets of mobile phone on Friday night.

Burglars had broken in through a window, said police.

In another case, a gang of three unidentified persons broke into the  rented room of Jarna Bahadur Rai and stole Rs 3.4 million in cash, 44 tolas of gold and two sets of mobile phone at Mahalaxmisthan in Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-14.

The  burglars had reportedly took the family members under control by taping their mouths and tying their hands and feet to find the cash and valuables in a cupboard before fleeing.

Rai, who hails from Nagi-8 in Bhojpur district, is a tenant in the house belonging to Madhu Limbu.

Similarly, an unattended house belonging to Saru Khatri in Surya Vinayak Municipality-14 of Bhaktapur district was burgled of gold jewellery and a set of mobile phone, worth Rs 124,000 in total, on Friday.

The burglars had broken the main door to enter the building, said police.

Meanwhile, investigations into the cases are underway and the search for the culprits is on, informed police.
