Tipper hits scooter, kills three including mother and son
BHAKTAPUR: At least three persons died on the spot when a speeding tipper knocked down a scooter at Palanse of Suryabinayak Municipality-9 at around 12:30 pm today.
Three persons travelling on the scooter died when the tipper (Ba 3 Kha 6674) hit the two wheeler (Ba 56 Pa 1227) on the road along the Araniko Highway.
The deceased have been identified as scooter rider Hari Bahadur Katuwal (50) of Lokanthali in Madhyapur Thimi Municiplaity-1, Sabita Ghimire (36) of Melung Municipality-6 in Dolakha, and her son Arbin Ghimire (16), Deputy Superintendent of Police at Metropolitan Police Circle, Jagati, Deepak Shrestha said.
The bodies have been taken to Bhaktapur Hospital; the tipper knocking the scooter has been kept at Police Circuit, Jagate and search for absconding driver is underway, police shared.
The tipper knocked the scooter when Ghimire was taking her ailing eighth grader son to hospital from Nepal Police Residential Secondary School at Sanga.
