Top leaders meet at Baluwatar for tripartite talks

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition, the main opposition Nepali Congress and the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front held talks today in a bid to find a solution to the current political crisis.

Top leaders of each side participated in the talks.

Before this, two major members of the ruling coalition – CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist – had held a meeting with Nepali Congress this afternoon.

Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur and his deputy Rhidayesh Tripathi, Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Co-Chairman Rajendra Shrestha and Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party senior leader Ram Naresh Yadav were present on behalf of the UDMF.

One of the UDMF constituents, Sadbhawana Party, however, had boycotted the meeting protesting police attack on its Chairman Rajendra Mahato.

Mahato is currently in New Delhi for treatment.
