Toppers’ tips to students for better exam results
Kathmandu, April 4:
Are you scared of exams? Or do you just take them for granted. If you mean both, act on the advice given by board toppers and psychiatrists.
Speaking at a seminar organised here today by Orbit International Education, exam toppers suggested the students to expand their mental horizons stopping to become bookish .
The seminar was largely targeted towards the students appearing in the upcoming +2 examinations.
“Don’t depend on a single book while preparing for your exams. Also identify a suitable time for your study,” suggested Bikas Gupta, topper in Bachelor in Business Studies in Tribhuvan University in 2008.
Amit Rayamajhi, topper of MBA examination under Purbanchal University in 2008, advised the students not to begin preparations at the eleventh hour. “Preparation in advance will help the students to excel,” he added.
The toppers also called on the students to give up fear and anxiety before entering into the exam hall.
Vipul Kabra, topper of the management faculty in Higher Secondary Education Board examination in 2007, suggested the students to solve the queries no matter how trifle they are.
Dr Manisha Chapagain, a psychiatrist at Teaching Hospital, suggested the students to avoid a situation of conflict especially at homes during exams.
“The parents should not put burden on the children by promising them with reward or punishment,” she said.
She also suggested the students to have a proper meal before giving the three-hour long exams.
