Kathmandu, June 8:

Locals of Mahalaxmisthan of Kagati Gau at Okharpauwa VDC in Nuwakot today blocked the roads leading to disruption of garbage transportation from Kathmandu to Sisdole landfill site.

“Transportation of garbage was halted today after the locals blocked the road following a conflict among themselves over destruction of a house at Kagati Gau,” said Rabin Man Shrestha, chief of the Environment department of KMC.

“We are forced to seek justice by blocking the vehicular movement after nobody listened to our woes,” said Chandra Bahadur Balami, whose house was damaged by Mahalaxmi Community Forest Users’ Group.
