KATHMANDU: A tremor was felt in various parts of Kathmandu at around 9 AM (3:16 UTC) on Monday morning.

According to the National Seismological Centre, the epicentre of the 4.1ML quake was near Chitlang of Makawanpur district.

An NSC official confirmed that this was an aftershock of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake.

The last recorded earthquake above 4ML was a 4.4ML tremor on February 26 with its epicenter in Dolakha.

A 4.0ML Kathmandu epicenter aftershock was recorded on February 16.

Today's quake is the seventh 4.0ML plus  recorded by seismological centre till date, in the year 2019.
