Tributes to Martyr Khadka
Kathmandu, April 30:
The final funeral rites of Pradhunna Khadka, the 17th Martyr of the Jana Andolan two, was peformed at Pashupati Aryaghat this morning.
Khadka, who was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in India on Wednesday, succumbed to bullet injuries that he had sustained during peaceful demonstrations at Kalanki on March 20. General secretary of CPN-UML Madahv Kumar Nepal, vice-president of Nepali Congress (NC) Shushil Koirala, NC general secretary Ramchandra Koirala, leader of Janamorcha Nepal Amik Sherachan, UML leader KP Oli, Bharat Mohan Adhikari, NC spokesperson Krishna Sitaula, Comedians Madan Krishna Acharya and Hari Bansha Acharya went to Pashupati Aryaghat to pay last tributes to Khadka.
Earlier, UML leader Amirt Kumar Bohara, Vice-President of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala along with many political workers and leaders went to the residence of Martyr Khadka at Shuchatar to pay tribute to him this morning.
A funeral procession was organised after the condolence meeting this morning at the Loktrantic Chowk, Kalanki, where army men had shot him dead. The procession went through various parts of the city and ended up in Aryaghat.
