KATHMANDU: A garbage collector was crushed to death by a truck while loading garbage on it at Swoyambhu in Kathmandu on Friday.

Police said the man came under the wheels of the truck (Ba 2 Kha 1115) while picking the garbage, according to police.

His identity is yet to be established. But police said he appeared to be in his 40s.

It has been learned that truck driver fled the scene after the incident near the Community Police Service Centre at around 7:30 this morning.

Police said they are looking for the driver.
