KATHMANDU: Part-time teachers with the Tribhvan University staged a sit-in at the local Maitighar Mandal today demanding that they be appointed on the contract basis.

It may be noted that Nepal Part Time Teachers' Association Chair Dr Mahesh Gajurel has been on a fast-onto-death at the main gate of the Tribhuvan University Kirtipur for a week, in a bid to pile pressure on the government to address demand of part timers.

Central Member of the Association Yogesh Kumar Goit said a team led by its vice chair Narendra Bhandari submitted a memorandum to this end to National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) secretary Bed Prasad Bhattarai today itself.
