Two education consultancy operators held for forging govt seals, signatures
KATHMANDU: Two education consultancy operators have been arrested for their alleged involvement in forging government seals and signatures, from Kathmandu, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from Metropolitan Crime Division arrested 28-year-old Deepak Bahadur Khatri of Birendranagar-15 and Dev Raj Saud of Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur district, on Monday.
Police raided Yamato Educational Pvt Ltd and Aryan International Educational Pvt Ltd operated by Deepak Bahadur Khatri and Dev Raj Saud respectively and recovered various government papers, seals and signatures, academic transcripts along with various transcripts issued by educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh in India.
Meanwhile, the suspected duo have been sent to Metropolitan Police Range, Teku for further investigation and action today itself.
If convicted, the duo would face upto one year jail term as per the existing legal provisions in Muluki Ain, also known as the Civil Code of Nepal.
Police also recovered a press card issued by the Government of Nepal to Dev Raj Saud.
