Two held for cooking gas black marketing
KATHMANDU: Police said they arrested two cooking gas black marketeers from the Kathmandu Valley on Friday.
Ramesh Lal Shrestha (43) of Naya Bazaar, KMC-16, was arrested for selling a cylinder of cooking gas for Rs 1,500.
A joint team of the District Administration Office and the Metropolitan Police Circle Lainchaur also seized 24 cylinders from his Lal Gas Store.
In a similar case, Suman Basnet (44) was also arrested for his alleged involvement in black marketing of the cooking fuel.
The owner of the Suman Store in Tikathali of Lalitpur was arrested, acting on a tip-off yesterday.
Police confiscated 16 gas cylinders from him.
Further investigations into both cases are underway.
