Two held for Gokarna incident

Police today arrested Shyam Shrestha and Jagat Shrestha in connection with a shooting incident that took place yesterday at Gokarna, Kathmandu. According to police, a person accompanying one Saroj Tamang had shot at Ram Shrestha, a businessman, yesterday at 8:30 am in Gorkarna. Ram Shrestha was staying in a house rented by one Gambhir Shrestha at Gokarna for the last four days. An injured Ram is undergoing treatment at the Bir Hospital after being referred there from Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel. Khadga Khatri, inspector at the Kathmandu District police office, said Saroj’s friend had shot “knowingly or unknowingly” at Ram with a pistol and fled from the spot. Both the arrested are persons are being interrogated, he said, adding that the motive for the shooting was not clear yet. He added that Jagat Shrestha, the third man on the spot yesterday informed the police.
