Two held on gold smuggling charge from Banasthali
KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in a gold smuggling case from Banasthali, KMC-16 of Kathmandu.
A team deployed from the Balaju-based Metropolitan Police Circle nabbed Janak Karki (25) from Keurini-7 of Sindhupalchok district and Narayan Thapa (32) from Manakamana-7 of Gorkha.
Police also seized a kilogramme of the metal which looked like gold.
It has been learned that Karki worked as a container driver along the Kathmandu-Kyirong route.
Police are looking into the case.
