Two held with 22 kg hashish, 2 kg opium from Balkhu

KATHMANDU: The Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police arrested two persons in possession of 2 kilogram of opium and 22 kilogram of hashish from Balkhu, KMC-14 on Monday.

Issuing a press statement today, NCB said 36-year-old Darj Bahadur Tamang of Kiranchowk Rural Municipality-8 in Dhading district and 36-year-old Raj Kumar Moktan of Raksirag Rural Municipality-2 in Makwanpur were apprehended at around 3:00 pm yesterday.

A team deployed from the NCB also seized 1kg opium,12 kg hashish, Rs 2000 cash and weighing machine from Darja Bahadur Tamang's possession.

Similarly, police also seized 1 kg opium,10 kg of hashish, Rs 7000 cash and Indian bank note of INRs 58,000 from Raj Kumar Moktan's possession, it said in the statement.

The duo would be charged under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, 1976.

Meanwhile, police's preliminary investigation has revealed that the duo were involved in drug peddling for long time.
