Two injured in khukuri attack

Kathmandu, January 6

Two persons were injured after being attacked with a khukuri near Jarkhu Bridge in Tarkeshwor Municipality-8 last night.

According to police, Ramesh Aryal, 26, had attacked Niraj Bhandari and Prakash Lama with the khukuri in a dispute over mutual distrust. Officials said they enjoyed binge drinking together before engaging in a brawl.

A team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju arrested Aryal with the khukuri that he used to attack Bhandari and Lama. Bhandari is undergoing treatment at Grande International Hospital while Lama has been admitted to Nayabazar-based People’s Medical College.

Police said Bhandari was in critical condition. One Jems Khadka is said to be absconding. Police said they were searching for him.
