KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday reportedly arrested two persons in possession of an illegal pistol from Gokarneshwar Municipality-6 of Kathmandu district.

The arrested have been identified as Kanchha Tamang (32) of Lakuri Bhanjyang in Lalitpur district and Biraj Tamang (25) of Bipra Deurali in Kavre district, currently residing in Narephanta of KMC-35.

Tamang duo who were riding on the motorcycle (Ba 39 Pa 73) in a road of the municipality, were arrested after security personnel found a pistol and a round of bullet in their possession during a security check yesterday.

According to police, the weapon was seized from the possession of the motorcyclist Kanchha.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
