UCPN-M to seek clarifications from leaders who quit party

The ongoing central committee meeting of Unified CPN-Maoist today decided to seek clarifications from leaders who declared that they had quit the party.

According to Haribol Gajurel, treasurer of the party, today’s meeting decided to seek clarification from leaders who claimed to have quit the party.

They include Pravu Sah, Ram Kumar Sharma, Ram Rijan Yadav, Hemanta Prakash Oli and Lokendra Bista.

Among them, Sah, Sharma and Yadav have not tendered their resignation to the party but they have been claiming in public that they have left the party.

The party is preparing to take action against Oli for his immoral deeds, while Bista has already tendered his resignation.

According to Gajurel, the ongoing central committee meeting has been postponed till November 1. The meeting will conclude after 11 days of vigorous discussions on transforming the party into a new and vibrant one.

Gajurel further said today’s meeting decided to organise political trainings in four different parts of the country to inform the party’s rank and file about the new constitution and the future plan of the party.

Political training for Pradesh 1 will be held in Itahari on October 7; for Pradesh 3 and 4 in Kathmandu on October 3; for Pradesh 4 to 7 on October 10 and 11 in Nepalgunj, he added.

He further said that a grand interaction would be organised in Kathmandu on October 4.

The party has also decided to hold mass meetings in different parts of the country in coordination with other major parties on the condition that UCPN-M should be allowed to inform the public about the note of dissent that the party had registered on different issues of the new constitution.

Central member Renu Chand said the party decided to take initiative to address the demands of the agitating Madhesi and Janajati forces in the Tarai. She said the party will also try to convince people about misunderstanding regarding Madhes. The party has also decided to direct its sister wings to protest against the blockage imposed at the customs offices in the Tarai.
