UDMF leaders meet Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar
KATHMANDU: The agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) leaders on Tuesday held a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar.
During the meeting held at the Dwarika Hotel in the Capital this morning, Jaishankar inquired about Madhes agitation and recent activities of the Front.
The Front leaders informed Jaishankar that they have given a month ultimatum to the government to address the demands.
Jaishankar said that India was for early solution to the Madhes issues.
Federal Socialist Forum Nepal leader Ashok Rai, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chairman Mahendra Raya Yadav and Sadbhawana Party Co-Chairman Laxman Lal Karna among other leaders were present in the meeting.
The Indian Foreign Secretary is scheduled to meet Prime Minsiter KP Sharma Oli and newly elected Nepal Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today itself.
Jaishankar had arrived in Nepal to attend the SAARC foreign minister level meeting being held in Pokhara.
