Ugandan national caught
KATHMANDU:
A police team from the Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit, New Baneshwor, arrested Ugandan national Kasumba Prosocovia Nanyondo, 34, with one kilogramme of brown sugar from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday. Nanyondo was scheduled to leave for Hong Kong on a Nepal Airlines flight, the police said on Monday, adding that Nanyondo had concealed the narcotics inside her private parts. During interrogation, she told the police that she got brown sugar from Sarah Njeri of Kenya to smuggle it into Hong Kong. Njeri gave the drugs to Nanyondo at Thamel some days ago, the police investigation revealed. The police also seized Rs 230, $1,120, Hong Kong $470, Chinese yuan 629, Ugandan currency 22,000 and UAE currency 180 from her.
