UML leaders delay talks with NC
KATHMANDU: The main ruling allies of the government Nepali Congress and CPN-UML put off the parleys on the current political and deteriorating security situation of the country scheduled to be held at the residence of the NC president Girija Prasad Koirala in Maharajgunj on Sunday.
According to sources, the meeting was put off due to the absence of the UML party leaders. The main agenda of the meeting was already determined such as the vacated posts of the NRB governor and constitutional bodies, Public Service Commission, General Auditors Office and the Commission for the Investigation for the Abuse of Authority. The UML leaders reportedly informed that they would not attend the meet due to internal discussions within their party.
NC central members Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and Krishna Prasad Sitaula had been engaged in hectic preparations for the meeting at Koirala’s residence before the postponement.
