KATHMANDU: United Nations Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and Pacific at UNDP, Haoliang Xu, is arriving Nepal on a four-day visit on Wednesday.

During his stay, he will separately call on President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

He will also meet other senior government officials and take stock of the post-earthquake reconstruction progress as well as the localisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Nepal, according to a source.

Meanwhile, the scheduled visit of the UN Deputy Secretary General Jan Eliasson was called off ‘due to his a health reasons’, according to foreign ministry Spokesperson Tara Prasad Pokhrel.
