UNMIN chief calls on PM

KATHMANDU: Chief of United Nations Mission in Nepal Karin Landgren Thursday suggested that the government refrain from making any comments that would hamper the ongoing peace process.

Landgren during her meeting with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter's office said both the government and People’s Liberation Army (PLA) should abide by the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) for the logical conclusion of the peace process. In return the PM assured Landgren that he would leave no stone unturned to end the peace process in a logical manner and reiterated that the government would abide by the CPA, Bishnu Rijal, PM's press advisor, quoted the PM as saying. Landgren reminded the PM about the UNMIN's earlier directive which states that no fresh recruitment should be made in the Nepal Army and the People's Liberation Army.
