Upendra Yadav, Ashok Rai announce unity, form FSF-N

KATHMANDU: Upendra Yadav-led Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Nepal (MJF-N) and Ashok Rai-led Federal Socialist Party-Nepal (FSP-N) on Monday announced unification between them and formed a new party.

The two opposition parties also included Khas Samabeshi Rastriya Party to form the new party named Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal (FSF-N).

At a function organised in the Capital today, the merger was announced.

Yadav will lead the party while Rai will be leader of the parliamentary party as well as the senior leader.

After the unification, the FSF-N has become fifth largest party of the Parliament with 15 lawmakers.

While MJF-N and FSP-N had 10 and five members in the Legislature each, the Khas Samabeshi Party does not have any seat.
