US army official calls on PM Dahal
KATHMANDU: Commander of the US Pacific Command Admiral Harry B Harris on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter's residence in Baluwatar.
According to the PM's Secretariat, PM Dahal expressed gratitude for the support US government has provided in Nepal's security as well as other sectors.
He also expressed his condolence to the US army for the loss of six US security personnel during the rescue operations carried out in rural areas of Nepal, after the 2015 earthquake here.
Discussing the Nepal-US relationship in the last 70 years, PM Dahal expressed his will to continue the bilateral relationship in future as well.
In the meeting, Admiral Harris commended Nepal's commitment to international peacekeeping.
He also thanked Nepal government for the opportunity provided to US army to study in Army Command and Staff College under Nepal Army and learn mountain warfare.
US ambassador to Nepal Alaina B Teplitz was also present in the meeting.
