US concerned over volatile situation on Indo-Nepal border
KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu-based United States Embassy expressed a great concern over the increasing volatile situation on the Nepal- India border.
A press statement issued by the US Embassy on Thursday marked that the ongoing strike on the Nepal-India border has caused "critical shortage of fuel, medicines and foodstuffs," including all the areas that are still reeling from massive earthquake of April 25 and its aftershocks.
The international donors are unable to distribute vital relief and shelter supplies to many vulnerable communities, while the winter season is around the corner, causing the humanitarian crisis, reads the press statement.
The United States has called on all those concerned ones to resolve the problem and contribute to create positive environment for meaningful political dialogue to ensure that the Constitution carries aspirations of all Nepalis.
The statement further reads that the American government would assist people and the government of Nepal as they continue along their democratic path and rebuild from the April 25 earthquake.
