Kathmandu, August 12:

The United States Ambassador to Nepal Nancy J Powell paid a courtesy call on President Dr Rambaran Yadav at the Rastrapati Bhawan at Sheetal Niwas today.

During the meeting, Powell handed over the American President George W Bush’s congratulations and best wishes to Dr Yadav on assuming the post of the President of Nepal.

In his message, the President of the United States has wished for the promotion of peace, prosperity and democracy in Nepal and expressed the confidence that mutual understanding between the two countries would grow further in the days to come, according to the Office of the President.
