KATHMANDU, AUGUST 25
The US Embassy in Kathmandu is hosting American country singer-songwriter Jessica Lynn for a week-long professional exchange with Nepali musicians and music industry professionals from August 24 to 29.
The programme, organised under the Arts & Music Envoy Program of the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, will include mentorship, interactive sessions and collaboration with Nepali singers, musicians, songwriters, producers, artist managers and other music professionals.
The sessions will focus on songwriting, music business, digital platforms, copyright and the wider music industry, according to the US Embassy.
US Chargé d'Affaires Scott Urbom said the programme would help strengthen professional connections between American and Nepali artists while supporting creativity and growth in Nepal's music sector.
The programme will conclude with a public concert at The Plaza, Pulchowk, on August 29. The concert will feature performances by Lynn, Nepali artists Rato Rani and Ujan Shakya, and a fusion performance by Lynn and sarangi player Kiran Nepali, a US government exchange programme alumnus.
