US, UK envoys discuss Madhes issues with Upendra Yadav

KATHMANDU: Ambassadors of the United States and the United Kingdom to Nepal met Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav on Thursday.

At the separate meetings, they discussed demands of agitating Madhes-based parties, developments in the talks between the government and the protesters and overall political situation of the nation, said the FSF-N.

US Ambassador to Nepal Alaina B Teplitz and UK Ambassador Richard Morris had met Yadav separately to hold discussions.

During the both meetings, Yadav informed the envoys that the current agitation in Tarai was for rights of Madhesi, Tharus, Janajatis, Dalits and women.

The diplomat duo were also in the favour of amending the Constitution to solve the existing problem, according to the party.
