Violence against kids opposed

Kathmandu, October 18:

As part of giving emphasis to the United Nation’s recent study report on Violence against Children, Save the Children Alliance is all set to organise ‘Listen to the Children’ at Maiti Ghar tomorrow.

“More than 100 children from Bhaktapur, Palpa, Tanahu, Kathmandu and Lalitpur will come together to call upon the government, non-government organisations and media to take action to end violence against children,” said Sita Ghimire of Save the Children, Norway at a press meet today.

Ghimire added that participating children will raise their concerns through various plays, songs, poems and public speaking.

On the occasion, children will send messages to end violence against them, ban corporal punishment and will urge to create an effective national child protection system.
