Koirala takes early lead against KC, Thapa in general secretary vote count

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary candidate Shashanka Koirala has taken an early lead in the vote count against other two candidates Arjun Narsingha KC and Gagan Thapa.

The latest vote count shows that Sitadevi Yadav and Chitralekha Yadav, on the other hand, are head-to-head in a four-side race for the post of treasurer.

Vote counting for NC general secretary, treasurer begins

KATHMANDU: The vote counting of the election held for the posts of general secretary and treasurer under the 13th general convention of the Nepali Congress has begun at the party office in Sanepa on Tuesday.

The results are expected to be out by this evening.

Shashanka Koirala, Arjun Narsingha KC and Gagan Thapa are in the fray of general secretary.

Chitra Lekha Yadav, Umakanta Chaudhary and Krishna Karki are vying for the post of treasurer.

Counting of votes for the Central Working Committee members would be held tomorrow.
