What’s fixed?
Lalitpur, November 25:
Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan City (LSMC) has recently fixed a road that links the Bangalamukhi temple to the Ring road at Balkumari, Lalitpur.
Before it was fixed, some 900 metres section of the road was filled with potholes and dust. Locals were also throwing garbage on the road. The locals were having hard time because of potholes and dust on the road.
But they have heaved a sigh of relief after the section was fixed.
Maila Maharjan of LSMC-8 said the road was last repaired in the early 80s. “Since then, no one really paid attention towards the maintenance of the road,” Maharjan said, adding, “The LSMC finally repaired the road after frequent requests from the local people.”
However, Babu Kaji Maharjan of LSMC-8 expressed his dissatisfaction over the repair works. “They should have fist constructed drains on either sides of the road before fixing it. It will have lasted long,” he added.
Though the Department of Roads is responsible for the maintenance of the road, we fixed it after receiving some budgetary support from the Road Board Nepal, officials at the LSMC said.
