KATHMANDU, APRIL 22

Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday morning.

Bhandari received the WHO Chief at her official residence, Sheetal Niwas, in Maharajgunj.

Bhandari praised the efforts of the WHO and the role played by the organization during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, Ghebreyesus also met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter's official residence in Baluwatar.

Earlier on Thursday, he had met with Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka.

Dr Tedros is in Nepal at the invitation of the Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada.

He is also scheduled to visit Patan Secondary School, Hanuman Dhoka Square and Patan Durbar Square during his stay.
